Terms of use

1. Who you’re agreeing with

These terms are between you and Lore Technologies Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17303424, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ (“we”, “us”). They govern your use of the Firvo app and this website.

Because Firvo is sold through the App Store, Apple’s standard End User Licence Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms on a matter of licensing, Apple’s terms win. Apple is not a party to this agreement, is not responsible for the app, and Apple’s only obligation to you is a refund of the purchase price if the app fails to conform to its warranty.

2. What Firvo does

Firvo asks you one personalised question a day, and optional smaller “Moments” if you turn them on. You answer in a line, typed or spoken. Your answers are stored word for word and are read by an AI model, which maintains a private brain of you and uses it to write your next question. This is set out in full in the privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.

Two consequences worth stating up front:

• Questions are machine-generated. They come from a language model working within templates we control. A question may occasionally be clumsy, mistaken about you, or badly timed. It is never advice, never a judgement, and you never owe it an answer.
• Moments are designed to expire. A Moment lives for thirty minutes and then it is gone for good. Nothing piles up and nothing is recoverable. The daily question, by contrast, will wait a few days for you. There are no streaks and nothing is scored.

3. Age

You must be 16 or over to use Firvo. By using it you confirm that you are.

4. Your account

You sign in with Apple, or with an email address and a password. If you use a password, keep it to yourself; if you use Apple, keep your Apple Account secure. Either way, anything done through your account is treated as done by you. An account is for one person: Firvo’s whole value is that its brain is a brain of you, and sharing an account simply produces a confused one.

5. Subscription and payment

• Firvo costs £34.99 per year, or the equivalent in your local currency as set by Apple.
• There is no free trial. The first year is charged when you subscribe, and the price is shown in full before you confirm.
• Payment is taken by Apple through your App Store account when you subscribe. We never see or hold your card details. Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's own terms.
• The subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• To cancel: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Firvo. Cancelling stops the next payment; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We do not put a cancel button behind a retention flow.
• Refunds are Apple’s to give. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected, and nothing here removes them.
• If we change the price, we will tell you in the app in good time and the new price will only ever apply to a renewal you can decline first.
• If your subscription lapses, your entries are not deleted. You keep the ability to read and export everything you have written. Only new questions stop.

6. Your words

Everything you write or dictate into Firvo belongs to you. Nothing you write becomes ours.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store your entries and to process them for one purpose only, running Firvo for you: building your brain, writing your questions, showing you your book, and producing your export. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not publish your entries, share them with other users, sell them, or use them to train any AI model.

7. What you agree not to do

• Use Firvo for anything unlawful, or to store other people’s personal data in a way that breaks the law.
• Attack, overload, scrape, decompile or otherwise interfere with the app or the service behind it.
• Attempt to extract the underlying model’s instructions, or use Firvo as a general-purpose AI tool by other means.
• Resell, sublicense or share access to your subscription.

If you break these terms in a way that harms other people or the service, we may suspend or close your account. Where it’s proportionate we’ll warn you first, and you will always be given the chance to export your entries unless the law prevents it.

8. Availability and change

We work to keep Firvo running, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or fault-free. We may add, change or remove features as the app develops. If we ever discontinue Firvo entirely, we will give you reasonable notice, keep the export working throughout, and refund the unused part of any subscription you have paid for.

9. Ending it

You can stop at any time. Cancel the subscription through Apple. If you want the data gone as well, use Settings → Delete account in the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: entries, brain, portrait and account. Export first if you want to keep anything, because we cannot get it back for you afterwards.

10. Firvo is not therapy

This one is not boilerplate, so it is not buried at the bottom in grey.

Firvo is a journal that asks questions. It is not counselling, therapy, diagnosis or medical treatment, it is not delivered by clinicians, and it is not a crisis service. No person reads your entries. An automated check softens the next few days’ questions when an answer suggests acute distress; it alerts nobody and contacts nobody. Do not use Firvo to reach help, and do not rely on it in place of a doctor or a therapist.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, or for content you lose by deleting it yourself; and our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

12. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you don’t accept the change, you can cancel and, where you’ve paid for a period you won’t now use, ask us for a proportionate refund.
